CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Relax & Restore

This slow moving class offers a combination of yin yoga and restorative yoga postures. Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga are stress-relieving practices that stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and promoting relaxation. Yin Yoga is all about releasing deeply held tension in the physical body and unleashing stagnant or blocked energy. Restorative Yoga focuses more on being 100% supported with blocks and bolsters, allowing your body to relax & heal. It is a much more passive practice than Yin (less active stretching, more surrendering). This class is best for students who are seeking deep relaxation, periods of stillness and gentle movement.

Restorative Yoga & Sound

Treat yourself to a soulful combination of restorative yoga, meditation and sound healing. During this class students will experience a relaxing sound bath with singing bowls, soft bells, and other soothing instruments. By consciously taking the body to a deep state of relaxation, we allow tension to release and activate the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. Restorative Yoga & Sound offers a sacred pause in the midst of busy life, melts away stress, invites recovery + renewal of our energy levels. Come experience the stillness within and let the body-mind complex return to a natural state of equilibrium.

Breath & Meditation

This class invites you to expand your yoga practice beyond just physical movement and explore pranayama and meditation. Pranayama is a yogic term that refers to the practice of regulated breath work. In yogic philosophy, the breath is known as our "life force" and is an integral part of building your yoga practice. In this class students can expect to be guided through mindful breathing techniques and a guided meditation centered around finding peace, stillness and inner harmony. This class is open to students of any skill level. No experience with meditation or breath work is necessary. Anyone struggling with anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or racing thoughts will benefit from this class.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a slow practice where students are guided through traditional static yoga postures. This class offers much more movement than Relax & Restore, but is not as fluid as a Vinyasa class. The focus in Hatha Yoga is to bring mind-body connection through mindful breathing as we practicing holding postures with deep stretches and transition from one pose to another. This a great class for those seeking gentle, low-impact movement that is not stressful on your body's joints. This class will offer an opportunity for students to nourish their breath, body and mind.

Yin-Yasa Yoga

YinYasa is a slow practice that combines the elements of yin yoga (long-held deep stretches) with vinyasa yoga (fluid movement) and mindful breathing. This is the perfect blend for students looking for both movement and period of stillness. YinYasa is a great class for beginners, students with limited mobility or anyone looking for a slow yet rejuvenating practice.

Vinyasa Yoga

Practicing flowing from one pose to another and release stagnant energy in the body as you pair each movement with breath. Students will practice moving mindfully through a sequence of dynamic poses and fluid transitions. Vinyasa Yoga is rooted in the practice of Sun Salutations, which is a set sequence of postures that will be practice repeatedly throughout class.  In this class poses are typically held for only a few seconds at a time as we flow from one pose to another, but students can expect some long-held postures and periods of stillness to be weaved into class as well. This class is less intense than Power Yoga, but much more fluid and active than Hatha Yoga. Students can expect to be in continuous movement for most of the class, with opportunities to practice balance postures, deep stretches and perfecting your Sun Salutation flow. There is no competition or pressure to keep up. This is a lighthearted class. Students are welcome to take breaks or find rest any time during class.
